1 General information
We, Connact GmbH, Alfred-Messel-Weg 3, represented by the managing director Jonathan Hildebrand, take the protection and confidentiality of personal data very seriously. We collect and use personal data exclusively within the framework of the legal regulations, i.e. primarily the German and European telemedia and data protection laws (in particular TMG and BDSG).
In the practical implementation of these regulations, we are guided by the "Orientation Guide to the Data Protection Requirements for App Developers and App Vendors" of the Düsseldorf Circle dated June 16, 2014, which refers to data protection and technical requirements for the development and use of mobile applications in the non-public sector.
2 Data security and economy
We have taken organisational, contractual and technical security measures to ensure that the regulations of the telemedia and data protection laws are complied with and to prevent accidental or deliberate manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorised persons. The transmission of data to our server backend is carried out via a secure SHA256 RSA encryption by using a HTTPS protocol. This provides a transport encryption. The server on which the user data is stored and on which the Ambassador App is operated is located in a data center in Germany. Only we are authorized to access it. A strong cryptographic encryption of the data makes it almost impossible for unauthorized persons to access user data. The keys for decoding the data are managed by our technical director (CTO) in a software safe and are never given to unauthorized persons.
3 What is the Ambassador App?
The Ambassador App is a service for professional and personal networking within each Ambassador Club Regional Member Club (RAC) and between Ambassadors of different member clubs. The Ambassador App provides a closed social network (hereinafter referred to as "Network"). In particular, the Ambassador App provides a number of features to enable networking and communication among users. In particular, users can register and create and maintain their own profiles. In addition, Users can "connect" with other Users, communicate directly with them or share content (e.g. messages, photos) with many Users at the same time, join different groups (so-called "Circles") and communicate with other Users within the group, as well as find other Users according to various criteria using an extensive search function.
The Ambassador App is available only to members of the Ambassador Club.
4 Data Collection and Use
We store and use personal data only to the extent permitted by law or if the user consents to the use of such data. In particular, we may use personal information if it is necessary for the purpose of using or enhancing the Ambassador App or improving the user experience. All data we collect and process is the minimum necessary to ensure the functionality of Ambassador App.
If the user uninstalls the Ambassador App, all data is deleted from the device. Only on Android devices, if personal data has been stored on the device's external memory, personal data may remain on the device even if Ambassador App is uninstalled.
Ambassador App does not collect or process data that requires enhanced protection (such as health or credit card information).
The data we collect is kept confidential, transmitted in encrypted form, and not shared with third parties. User data will not be processed for advertising purposes for third parties.
We distinguish between data that is automatically transmitted to us when users use the Ambassador App (access data) and data that users expressly and knowingly provide us with (inventory data).
4.1 Access data
When you use the Ambassador App, technical data is automatically transmitted to us, which is stored anonymously in log files after the end of the usage process.
In particular, we store the following data: IP address, temporary unique device identifiers (e.g. IDFA and Android ID), random device identification numbers (client IDs) and user identification numbers (user IDs), random unique identification numbers, request (name of the requested file), app version, operating system and version used, language settings, date and time.
4.2 Inventory data
When users register for a user account or contact us, for example, via the "Contact" function, we collect all data that the user sends us in the process (e.g., data that the user inserts into a form). We store this data in order to be able to answer any questions the user may have.
When registering for the first time, we collect the following data: E-mail address, first name and surname, academic titles, affiliation (maternal bond), date of birth, zip code, place of residence, country. This information is necessary to enable the user to use the Ambassador App.
After registration, users may voluntarily add additional personal information to their profiles to improve the user experience of Ambassador App. This voluntary information includes, but is not limited to, details of the user's membership, profession and studies.
5 Sending information via newsletter
To help our users get the most out of the Ambassador App and stay informed about new features, we send system information or announcements via e-mail or push message at irregular intervals.
E-mails with promotional information about third-party services will only be sent with the user's express permission. To do so, the user must activate the "Receive Newsletter" feature either during the registration process or later in the Ambassador App settings. Users can opt out of receiving the newsletter at any time. An objection option is also included in every newsletter mail. Users can also deactivate newsletter reception in the Ambassador App's settings.
The full functionality of the Ambassador App requires different permissions depending on the operating system of the device. All permissions requested by the Ambassador App and the data collected are intended to provide a specific function within the Ambassador App or improve the user experience.
The Ambassador App requires the following permissions on mobile devices:
Access to photos to send pictures and create a profile picture
Access to camera to take pictures to create a profile picture or send a message
Access to the microphone to send voice messages
Location determination to share the location with contacts within the network
Messages, so that the user is automatically notified when he receives a message
Internet access to enable the basic functions of the Ambassador App (e.g., message sending, user search, chat, etc.)
7 Location information
Our users expect the most accurate location possible. Therefore, the location is determined to an accuracy of up to 8 meters using the GPS function of the respective terminal device.

Through technical and organisational measures (e.g. anonymisation of IP addresses or one-way encryption) we ensure that the user profiles and statistics do not allow any conclusions to be drawn about individual users.

10 Information / Correction
If we no longer need personal data or are required to store it due to legal obligations, it will be deleted.
The user has the right at any time to request information free of charge, either verbally or in writing, about the origin of his personal data as well as the type and extent of the storage and use of this data. The App user can demand the correction and - if the storage is inadmissible - deletion of his data.
We would like to point out that the right to delete data may be restricted by legal storage obligations which we must observe. In addition, courts, law enforcement agencies or other legally determined authorities may retrieve data or demand information on a legal basis.
For information, correction or deletion requests, the user can contact us by stating his name, e-mail address and user name.
